Arrow Of Light Ceremony
The Arrow of Light Ceremony is the most important event of our Scouting year. It is the highest attainable rank in Cub Scouting. In fact, outside of any religious award emblem earned, the Arrow of Light award is the only Cub Scout insignia that can be worn on a Boy Scout uniform! This Pack Meeting signifies the ending of our Scouting year with the advent of Summer Camping and new adventures around the corner.
The Cub Scout will have to earn the Webelos badge and at least eight activity badges, including Citizen, Readyman, and Fitness to qualify for the Arrow of Light award. The total must include one from each of the five Webelos activity groups. By earning his Arrow of Light, a Scout will be prepared to make the transition to Boy Scouts. At the ceremony, the Webelos Scout will “cross over”, (literally over a bridge constructed for the occasion) from Cub Scouts to a waiting Boy Scout Troop on the other side!
But the Arrow of Light ceremony is not just for the 2nd year Webelos Scouts. Our ceremony celebrates the crossing over of each Scout onto a new level of Scouting achievement. All Scouts will be sent by their Den Leader to cross over the bridge and be received by his parents on the other side for a new year of Scouting.
